Who hates asking for testimonials at the end of their projects? **raises hand βπΌ**
Anxiety, sprinkled with imposter syndrome, has made this habit one of our worst.
Ask for a testimonial too soon, and you're feeling pushy. Send a testimonial request too late, and the client forgets what your name was.
And when you've finally mustered up the gonads to ask, you get the most boring, most generic testimonial ever...like "I could have written this myself" generic.
Pssst...that's probably what all your website visitors are thinking too.
Written testimonials are too easily faked...what you can't fake is a video.
Do you remember when you'd look up a product on Amazon just to read the reviews before you bought it somewhere cheaper?
And every time you needed a "real" opinion, you went back to Amazon again and again like clockwork...attracted like glue.
Amazon is one of the stickiest brands I know.
I mean, have you tried canceling Prime? Who doesn't want a coral pink tumbler delivered 10 pm, same day?
You might have a "brand," but if you're not meeting your personal goals for it, then it's probably not sticky ENOUGH.

Sticky brands are memorable, convenient, useful, honest, innovative, relevant, and attractive...to start. After Amazon made buying and getting opinions convenient and useful, it leveraged initial wins into a brand that later became more attractive and more memorable.
